Rich Cho, who spent the last nine seasons with the Supersonics/Thunder, will take over as the new general manager of the Trail Blazers. Cho was promoted to assistant general manager of the Sonics in 2000 after serving as director of basketball affairs.
Cho takes over for Kevin Pritchard, who took the reins as general manager in 2007 after three years with the team in other capacities. He was fired just before the 2010 draft.
During his tenure in Seattle and Oklahoma City, Cho worked with Microsoft to develop a well-respected player evaluation system. The 45-year-old will become the organization’s ninth general manager since its inception in 1970.
