Timberwolves officially waive ex-Celtic West |

The Timberwolves announced on their website that they have waived former Celtics and Cavaliers guard Delonte West. Minnesota acquired West as well as Sebastian Telfair in a trade with Cleveland for Ryan Hollins and Ramon Sessions. With West off the roster, Minnesota has to pay just $500,000 of the $4.6 million it would have owed him had he stayed. West put up 8.8 points per game as well as 3.3 assists per game for the Cavs last season.
Previous rumors had West returning to Boston should he be released in order to replace recently departed Tony Allen as a guard off the bench, and given the recent move, the door appears to be open for such a possibility.
