Chicago Bulls forward Carlos Boozer is expected to miss eight weeks after suffering a broken right hand on Saturday. ESPN reports that the right hand will require surgery after Boozer injured it during the Bulls’ day off.
Boozer was Chicago’s high-profile addition after failing to sign LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh; instead the trio joined forces in Miami during this summer’s heavily covered free agency period. Boozer, a veteran forward acquired from Utah, averaged 19.5 points per game and 11.2 rebounds per game with Utah last year in his eighth NBA season.
Bulls teammates have praised Boozer in the first week of training camp but Chicago fans will have to wait until their offseason signing will be able to play alongside Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.

I still wonder why the bulls didn’t go after Amare instead of Boozer. Thank God for guaranteed contracts! I hope he gets well soon, the Bulls still gonna suck in my opinion, but we’ll see. Everyone is saying they could make the eastern conference finals, I don’t see it, with or without Boozer. Here is a great article by a disappointed bulls fan.
