According to yakyubaka.com, star Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish has written on his blog that he will not be pitching in the United States next season, instead choosing to stay with his team in Japan. According to the site, Darvish wrote:
A lot has been mentions about the Majors.
I received a lot of comments, both on Twitter and on my blog.
I don’t know if this will match everyone’s guess.
Next season…
I will be wearing a Nippon Ham Fighters uniform.
There had been speculation that Darvish, a 24-year-old righty who is considered the most high-profile pitcher in Japan since Daisuke Matsuzaka, would take his talents to the Major Leagues in 2011. He pitched in both the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the ’09 World Baseball Classic.
