| Likely top NFL pick Andrew Luck will return to Stanford | 01.06.11 at 3:15 pm ET |
Andrew Luck, who was the presumptive No. 1 overall draft pick in this spring’s NFL draft, will return to Stanford instead of entering the draft, the school announced. Luck, a draft-eligible sophomore and the son of former NFL quarterback Oliver Luck, was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy and led the Cardinal to an 11-1 record capped off with a win in the Orange Bowl.
Luck’s decision may play a role in where Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh ends up next season. The Dolphins reportedly will offer Harbaugh $7 million to $8 million to become their coach.
