| Duke’s Kyrie Irving will see ‘significant’ playing time | 03.23.11 at 8:56 am ET |
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said Tuesday that freshman point guard Kyrie Irving will play “significant minutes” in the Blue Devils’ Sweet 16 matchup with Arizona on Thursday.
Irving missed 3 1/2 months with an injured big right toe, but he came off the bench to score 25 points in 41 minutes in Duke’s two tournament games last weekend. Krzyzewski said Irving will continue to come off the bench because the Blue Devils “are good with who we’re starting,” but noted that Irving is ahead of schedule in his recovery.
