| Report: University of Miami talks to Harvard coach Tommy Amaker about opening | 04.12.11 at 10:03 am ET |
According to a report in The Miami Herald, officials from the University of Miami traveled to Boston on Monday to talk to Harvard basketball coach Tommy Amaker about their coaching vacancy.
Amaker led the Crimson to a 23-7 record and share of the Ivy League championship this past season, the program’s first Ivy title ever. Harvard lost to Princeton in a playoff to determine the league’s NCAA tournament representative and then fell to Oklahoma State in the first round of the NIT.
If Amaker leaves, that would leave both Ivy co-champs with new coaches. Sydney Johnson left Princeton for Fairfield last week.
