NHL Playoffs: Canucks at Bruins, 8 p.m. (VERSUS)
MLB: Red Sox at Yankees, 7:05 p.m. (NESN; WEEI)

AROUND THE WEB:

♦ In the seventh round of the amateur draft Tuesday, the Cubs drafted Southern California high school player Trevor Gretzky, son of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Gretzky is a first baseman who has committed to San Diego State. Gretzky said he was introduced to baseball when his father was playing in New York for the Rangers. “I remember him taking me to a Yankee game, and ever since then I wanted to play, and it’s been my dream to be in the major leagues since then,” he said.

In the 11th round, the Cubs selected Shawon Dunston Jr., son of the Cubs’ 1982 No. 1 overall pick who went on to play 18 seasons in the majors.

♦ Former catcher Jim Leyritz, who was a key to the Yankees’ 1996 World Series title, has a new book in which he expresses his disappointment with the judicial system. Leyritz was found not guilty of a DUI manslaughter charge after a car accident in 2007 in which a woman was killed. “After experiencing what I experienced, I realized that [the legal system] is very corrupt,” Leyritz writes. “There are people in the system that take advantage of it.”

♦ USC’s 2004 national championship was vacated and coach Lane Kiffin is preparing to answer to the NCAA for his alleged failure “to promote an atmosphere of compliance within the football program” during his last job at Tennessee. On the bright side, Bill Plaschke in The Los Angeles Times writes that Kiffin has matured and “clearly is not the reckless coach who swaggered in here from Knoxville” a year ago.
