Guard Steve Francis last played in the NBA in the 2007-08 season for the Houston Rockets. He last played professionally for the Bejing Ducks in 2010, averaging 0.5 points and 0.7 rebounds in just four games. Now, while some of his former teammates are locked out, it appears the 3-time All-Star may be locked up. According to a TMZ report, Francis was accused of sexual assault, by 20-year-old Shauna Simien.
Simien was signed to Francis’s record label, and went to meet the 2000 NBA Rookie of the Year in an office to discuss said contract in May of 2010. Simien claims Francis “groped” her through her clothes, grabbing her between her legs while the pair were talking outside.
The police report which was filed over a year ago, is still open according to law enforcement officials. Simien is considering filing a lawsuit against the District Attorney’s office.
