| Andre Iguodala predicts canceled NBA season | 08.09.11 at 5:31 pm ET |
With the NBA mired in a lockout, it’s anybody guess as to whether or not there will be a 2011-12 season. While some players are more optimistic than others, 76ers guard Andre Iguodala seems convinced that the league won’t have a season at all.
“I didn’t think it would be this bad,” he said Monday on a Philadelphia golf course. “I thought with the season we had and the TV ratings that we had and this being one of the largest grossing revenue seasons in the history of the game, you would think that we would be able to reach an agreement. But we are so far apart … You know there’s not going to be a season.”
Iguodala finished the 2011-12 campaign averaging 14.1 points, 6.3 assists and 5.8 rebounds, and was the subject of several trade rumors before the lockout began. The seven-year veteran, like most players, is still hoping that a new collective bargaining agreement can be agreed upon in “gut-check time” closer to when the season starts.
