Ndamukong Suh fined $20,000 for hit on QB Andy Dalton 08.17.11 at 5:13 pm ET
By Tyler Murray

Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh has been fined $20,000 for his hit on Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton. Suh slammed the quarterback to the ground in last Friday’s preseason game, tearing off Dalton’s helmet after the ball was well out of his hands. The hit can be seen in the video below.

In response to the fine, Suh tweeted, “$20,000 REALLY???!!” The former No. 1 overall pick’s five-year contract has $40 million guaranteed and could reach $68 million if Suh reaches certain incentives.

It wasn’t the first time Suh has taken a hit too far. In 2010, he was fined $7,500 for a facemask takedown of Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme and was also docked $15,000 for hitting Bears QB Jay Cutler in the back of the head with his forearm.
