A few Marlins are taking to Twitter to voice their disapproval of Tuesday’s dismissal of manager Ozzie Guillen.
Marlins pitcher Ricky Nolasco was perhaps most upset, firing off this tweet:
U gotta be [expletive] [expletive] me
Nolasco removed the explicit tweet shortly after posting it. Nolasco, in photos posted on Twitter, appears to have spent the weekend in Spain with Guillen, Guillen’s wife, and Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton.
Outfielder Justin Ruggiano tweeted his best wishes to Guillen.
Very glad I had the opportunity to play for @OzzieGuillen, he was the ultimate players manager and I wish him the best
Ruggiano expressed his sympathy for Guillen after the Marlins underperformed and had 93 losses on the season.
“I think we just underachieved for him,” Ruggiano said in an interview. “You hate to see someone get the boot for a team that underachieved because he’s not the one out there.
Guillen also took to Twitter to thank his players, fans, and family.
In life there are worst things and I have experinced them I have lived through bad moments and I will get through this with support
No replacement has been named by the Marlins.
