Yankees ace CC Sabathia had arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow on Thursday.

The Yankees expect Sabathia to fully recover before the start of next season.

“They found a small bone spur,” Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said. “It was a quick and minor cleanup. We’ll take him along slowly through spring training and he’ll be ready for Opening Day.”

Cashman had said the team would assess Sabathia’€™s elbow in the offseason, particularly after his poor performance in Game 4 of the ALCS against the Tigers.

Sabathia was on the disabled list from Aug. 8-24 when the same elbow was inflamed.
