Mark Sanchez to start at QB for Jets on Sunday |

The Jets announced Wednesday that maligned quarterback Mark Sanchez will start Sunday’s game at Jacksonville. Coach Rex Ryan took two days to make his decision, following Sunday’s 7-6 victory over the Cardinals in which Sanchez was pulled in the third quarter for third-stringer Greg McElroy after throwing three interceptions in his first 10 passes. McElroy went on to lead the team on its only scoring drive, throwing a 1-yard touchdown pass. Backup Tim Tebow is recovering from broken ribs.
The New York Daily News reported that owner Woody Johnson preferred McElroy for Sunday’s game but general manager Mike Tannenbaum and offensive coordinator Tony Sparano wanted Sanchez.
