ESPN suspended “First Take” panelist Rob Parker following Thursday’s incendiary comments about Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III.
Tweeted ESPN spokesman Mike Soltys on Friday morning: Following yesterday’s comments, Rob Parker has been suspended until further notice. We are conducting a full review.
Parker indicated that he felt Griffin was distancing himself from his African-American background and questioned whether RGIII “is a brother, or is he a cornball brother?”
Explained Parker: “He’s black, he kinds of does his thing, but he’s not really down with the cause; he’s not one of us. He’s kind of black, but he’s not really the kind of guy you want to hang out with because he’s off to something else.”
Parker has been inundated with criticism since the show aired. He tweeted a response to one critic, referring to the individual’s comments as “typical and uneducated.”

Not surprised at all, considering his past history of comments. If there was ever any doubt previously – and there should not have been – he let his true colors show (no pun intended). Why this guy has been allowed to retain his job when there are so many more intelligent and unbiased voices available is incomprehensible.

Typical and uneducated describes his comments, not someone else.
“He is really not down with the cause,” what cause is that?
Has Chicago improved or got worse under the Obama administration?
Are rappers who talk about violence against women, drug dealing, etc and poison a young generation down with the cause?
Is Jamie Fox who said he got to kill all the white people in the film and said Obama is our savior down with the cause?

PARKER IS THE ONE WHO IS “INSENSITIVE”, INSULTING AND OUTRAGEOUS!! ESPN….
FIRE THIS GUY!! CALLING ROBERT GRIFFIN III A “CORNBALL”? OMG WHAT AN ABSOLUTE MORON! IT IS ROBERT GRIFFIN WHO SHOULD ALWAYS DISTANCE HIMSELF FROM IDIOTS LIKE PARKER. IN MY OPINION, ROBERT GRIFFIN IS AN EXAMPLE ALL KIDS & ADULTS NO MATTER RACE, COLOR OR CREED SHOULD EMULATE…..
GOD BLESS YOU ROBERT GRIFFIN YOU ARE A CREDIT TO ALL HUMANS

According to Rob Parker, a black man’s not a real black man if he’s a well-spoken, hard-working, intelligent, and a decent all-around person.

Parker is an idiot, but ESPN ran the show a second time after the live version with these comments intact. It was not until the criticism that they suspended him. If they are really that bothered, why not edit the rerun?

I wrote an email to Espn last week saying that Rob Thomas was racist.Of course I got no response other than we appreciate your comments. My email to them was about the segment where they were talking about Kevin Durant watching film on Larry Bird.Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Exactly what “cause” is he referring to?! He’s the one that comes off as uneducated and ignorant. This shows that racism occurs within the same race!! I’m so glad that ESPN treated this the same way they have treated other instances like this in the past.

Jackass. You’re as racist as racist gets. Get over yourself, with your “cause”. This is 2012. Wake up, open your eyes.

This is the problem with the African American community at large. Every-thing and I mean everything is about race. The media goes out of its way to inject it at every opportunity. Rob Parker just exposed himself for what he is…A racist. Good riddance to him. all he does is whine anyway.

Rob Parker, along with Jemelle Hill are the two most racist personalities on ESPN. They’ve both had their run-ins with management before and Parker should be kept off the air. He’s a disgrace to his profession and his “people”. Same thing for Jemelle if she ever decides to cross that line again.
