NFL Network analyst Michael Lombardi, who was scheduled to conduct his weekly interview with WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan on Friday morning, instead apparently was wrapping up his final interview with the Browns. According to a tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Lombardi was named the team’s vice president of player personnel.
Lombardi previoulsy worked in player personnel for the Browns from 1987-95, serving alongside then-Browns coach Bill Belichick from 1991-95. He also has worked for the Raiders, Eagles, Rams and 49ers.
Earlier this month, the Browns hired Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski to be their next coach.

Happy for him, but it sucks for D&C. He was always a fantastic interview.
It’s funny I was just thinking during the Peter King interview on Mut&Lou that as much as I enjoy King, Lombardi was 1000 times better. Lombardi’s unique perspective, knowledge of the game, and ability to cram a ridiculous amount of information into a short interview is unmatched on EEI. He will be missed.
