The NFL has said that it will investigate whether or not questions asked of Colorado tight end Nick Kasa during the combine violated any laws or league policies banning employers from inquiring about a possible employee’s sexual orientation.

Kasa talked on ESPN Radio in Denver about how team officials at the combine were asking inappropriate questions. He has not identified who asked him the questions.

Said Kasa: “[Teams] ask you, like, ‘Do you have a girlfriend?’ ‘Are you married?’ ‘Do you like girls?’ ”

Kasa also gave a radio interview to Dan Patrick on Wednesday and said he didn’t think it “was really a serious question.”

This possible violation comes roughly a month after 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver said that he would not welcome a gay teammate. He later apologized for the comments.

An NFL statement read: “Any team or employee that inquires about impermissible subjects or makes an employment decision based on such factors is subject to league discipline.”

NFLPA head DeMaurice Smith said in a statement: “I know that the NFL agrees that these types of questions violate the law, our CBA and player rights. I hope that they will seek out information as to what teams have engaged in this type of discrimination and we should then discuss appropriate discipline.”
