Days after Tom Brady worked out a new contract with the Patriots that frees up cap room for the team, Ben Roethlisberger tweaked his deal with the Steelers, according to NFL.com’s Albert Breer.
The Steelers are expected to save about $6 million with the new pact, which converts salary into bonus money. Unlike Brady, Roethlisberger did not add years or money to his deal.
Roethlisberger was slated to carry a salary-cap figure of $19.595 million in 2013.
