Cowboys safety Gerald Sensabaugh, who started 15 games last season, tweeted Monday that he’s being cut by the team in a cost-cutting move.
Sensabaugh, 29, signed a five-year extension in December 2011. Dallas will save about $1.4 million on the salary cap with his release.
Drafted in the fifth round in 2005 out of North Carolina, Sensabaugh spent his first four pro seasons with the Jaguars before joining the Cowboys. In eight NFL seasons, he has 411 tackles (327 solo), two sacks, 35 passes defensed and 14 interceptions. Last year he recorded 24 tackles (19 solo) and one pass defensed.
