Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie on NFL’s marijuana policy: League needs ‘to just let it go’

With two states that have legalized marijuana represented in last Sunday’€™s Super Bowl, the ability for players to use the drug either recreationally or medicinally has drawn attention around the NFL. According to the New York Daily News, Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie said players will smoke marijuana regardless of the league’€™s policies.

“They need to just let it go,” Cromartie said in an interview with last Friday. “Players are just going to do it anyway. They just need to let it go. They just need to go ahead and say, ‘€˜Y’€™all go ahead and smoke it, do what you need to do.’€™ ”

Players are prohibited from using the drug even in places where it is legalized.

Since doing the interview with, Cromartie clarified via Twitter that he does not smoke marijuana.
