Sporting events often seem as if they take place in a bubble, a world unto themselves. But every once in a while, a visionary stretches the parameters of the sporting world and contemplates the place of athletes in society at large.

Such an instance of innovation confronts us today, in the form of this comparison of NBA stars to superheroes (a chapeau-doff in the Richtung of Ballhype). One unfortunate oversight: Rajon Rondo, in the photo found here, definitely deserves a nod as the Green Goblin.
